August Residents of the Month

Meet Crown Pointe’s August Residents of the Month, Ed and Joy Reiber! These two lovebirds have been at Crown Pointe for a few years now. They have been married for "too many years to count" and reside in the 300 hallway.

Edwin, who goes by Eddie or Ed, was born in York, Pennsylvania, in April 1930. When he was younger, he wanted to become a teacher, but life had other plans for him. He had several jobs throughout his life, including wine-making, woodworking, and repairing furniture. Ed also used to be into photography and was in the Marines.



Ed has lived in York, Philadelphia, and Columbus. When he could travel, he loved visiting Europe the most. Once Ed was ready to have a family, he had one son named Mark. He had two dogs and one cat in his life. Ed has always enjoyed watching sports, especially OSU football. He has a big sweet tooth, and his favorite food is any kind of cookie. Ed's words of advice are, “Buy low and sell high. Live for today, and don’t buy the green bananas!”

Joy was also born in York, Pennsylvania, in August 1926. When she was younger, she wanted to grow up and be a wife and mother. She ended up having two beautiful kids named Shelley and Mark. She moved around with Ed, living in York, and then moved to Columbus, where she has resided since. Her favorite hobby is spending time with friends and family. Her favorite travel destination is Germany and Paris. She loves fine foods, including lobster, shrimp, and chick with lemon. One interesting fact about Joy is that she used to play the guitar.
